Douglas Gill, CFP®
Mr. Gill previously founded Argentus Partners, LLC in 2001. During Mr. Gill’s 13 year tenure as CEO of Argentus, the firm grew to more than 30 staff members and delivered technology, back-office and asset management services to more than $2.0 billion of client assets for independent advisors across the U.S.
Doug began his professional career with a Dallas-based hedge fund and then moved to New York to pursue equities trading on an institutional trade desk and the floor of the NYSE. Mr. Gill later returned to Dallas and joined a full-service financial advisory firm, Perryman Financial Advisory, in 1990 as an associate, becoming a shareholder/principal in the firm in 1997. He then formed Gill Capital Management, Inc. in 1999 to focus exclusively on improving after-tax investment results for affluent individuals and institutional clients. Mr. Gill brings extensive portfolio management experience to his clients, including options trading strategies, technical analysis and broad knowledge of global macro investment trends.
Past president of the Dallas/Ft. Worth Society of Certified Financial Planners in 1998, Doug was then involved with the financial profession at the national level as a member of the Financial Planning Association’s Ethics Committee and served on the Institute of Certified Financial Planners’ Committee on Practice Standards. He has often been quoted in the national and local financial media.
A graduate of the U.S. Marine Corps Officer Candidates School, in 1990 Doug earned a B.S. degree in Economics and a B.A. degree in Philosophy from Southern Methodist University. Continuing his professional education, he earned the mark of CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) in 1994. Doug has previously held several FINRA licenses, including Series 7, 24 and 63 licenses. A lifelong resident of Dallas, he is married with four children and serves as an elder in the Presbyterian Church. He is also a past president of the Rotary Club of Park Cities.
